Shakira is a Colombian singer-songwriter who emerged in the music scene of Colombia and Latin America in the early 1990s. Her album 'Pies Descalzos' (Bare feet) brought her to the top of the charts in South America, and her third studio album 'Donde estan los Ladrones' (Where are the thieves?) sold more than 7 million copies world-wide. Her music style changed dramatically with her debut in the U.S. and many Latin American fans were left disappointed at this transition.
